Domain Activation 

This is the process of proving that the domain is owned by you.
If you have been granted the Activation Skip option, this process is not necessary. 


There are three methods of domain activation

・A. Place the file on the server

・B. Describe it in the DNS record

・C. Sending an email to the server administrator


Perform Domain Activation (file installation)


Below is an explanation of "A. Place the file on the server".

Follow steps 1 through 2 to access the Domain Activation page.


1. Download the key file from the following button.
Click the "Download key file" button.


2. Place it in the document root on the appropriate server so that it can be accessed.
Please place the file according to your environment.


3. Make sure that the key file can be accsessed from a browser.


4. Click the "Activate" button for the domain that is marked as "Inactive".



You can see that the status has been changed to "Active".


This is the end of the domain activation in "A. Place the file on the server".


Click "Next Step 5 Register and run the scan" at the bottom of the page to proceed to the next step. 


Perform domain activation (DNS records)

Below is an explanation of "B. Describe it in the DNS record".




Follow steps 1 through 2 to access the Domain Activation page.


1. copy the following key on the AeyeScan screen.




2. add the copied key to the TXT record of the target domain.

Configure the settings according to the manuals of the respective DNS service provider.


[Attention]

- Please take care not to affect existing DNS settings.

- The method of registering multiple TXT records may vary depending on the provider.

- It may take some time for the settings to actually take effect after they have been configured.


3. execute the following commands and check that the settings are reflected.


Command (example):.

nslookup -type=TXT example.com


If the configuration has been carried out successfully, the 'key' copied from the AeyeScan page will respond as follows.


Result of command execution (example):.

aeyescan-activation=XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX



4. press the 'Activate' button for the scanned domain that is 'Inactive'.




The status is changed to 'Active'.



Click "Next Step 5 Register and run the scan" at the bottom of the page to proceed to the next step. 



Perform Domain Activation (send email)

Below is an explanation of "C. Sending an email to the server administrator".

Access the Domain Activation page by following steps 1 through 2.
Press the "✉" button at 3. 


Select your e-mail address in 1.


The following can be selected as the Email address.

Example: If the domain is "example.com"


root@example.com
admin@example.com
administrator@example.com
hostmaster@example.com
postmaster@example.com
webmaster@example.com


In addition, if the domain contains subdomains, all domains, including the top-level domain, can be selected.

Example: if the registered domain is the following, activation is possible if root@example.jp can be received.

- sub1.example.jp

- sub2.example.jp


Click the "Send Email" button in 2. 




You can see that the status has been changed to "Active".
